Prequel to the “Artifacts” works, the Instructions and Prototypes paintings and objects imagine eons ago interactions with a mysterious unseen interdimensional intelligence attempting to transfer knowledge and forbidden information to the prehistoric settlers of the Earth.
With their discovery of instructions written in a strange otherworldly semiotic language, Earth’s earliest inhabitants collaborated to produce crude but earnestly made bricolage objects in an attempt to bridge from what they knew to what would be incomprehensible to them.
